Easy 4th July Layered Taco Dip
This festive 4th of July taco dip is the ultimate party appetizer! Easy to make, no baking required and layered to look just like the American flag with red stripes and olive stars. A total crowd-pleaser for your Memorial Day or Independence Day BBQ! This delicious dip is a total crowd-pleaser!
Easy No-Bake Taco Dip.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever signed up to bring something 'easy' to a holiday party and then panicked the night before. Yep, been there. That’s why I keep this 4th of July taco dip in my back pocket every summer. It’s fool proof, fun and seriously delicious.
The best part? It’s made with simple ingredients (most of which you probably already have at home) and you don’t need to cook a thing. Just build those beautiful layers of refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream, decorate like a flag, cover with plastic wrap, and pop it in the fridge.
It looks impressive but takes almost no effort, my favorite kind of recipe! You can even scoop leftovers (if there are any!) into mini taco shells or roll them up into burritos the next day. Win-win!
American Flag Layered Taco Dip.
This easy taco dip is one of my all-time favorites because it’s completely no-cook. Just layer it up, chill it and you’re good to go. It’s the kind of dish that’s made for sharing, whether you’re heading to a backyard BBQ, a summer potluck, or a pool party.
And let’s be honest, the flag design on top is just plain fun. Best of all, it’s a hit with everyone, from picky kids to taco-loving grown-ups. Who can say no to a delicious dip that looks this good especially when served with blue tortilla chips?
Ingredients:
2 (16 oz.) cans refried beans
1 packet taco seasoning mix
2 cups guacamole
2 cups sour cream
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
3 cups diced Roma tomatoes
1 (2.25 oz.) can sliced black olives
How to Make a Patriotic Taco Dip for the 4th of July.
1. In a large bowl, combine the refried beans and taco seasoning. Mix well until fully blended.
2. Spread the seasoned bean mixture evenly across the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
3. Carefully spoon the guacamole over the top of the refried beans mixture, spreading it gently to create a smooth, even layer.
4. Repeat this step with the sour cream, spreading it evenly over the layer of guacamole.
5. To decorate the top like an American flag, create a square in the upper left corner using the sliced black olives.
6. Use the diced tomatoes and shredded mozzarella to form alternating red and white stripes across the rest of the dish.
7. Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 1 hour to allow the layers to set.
8. Serve chilled with crispy tortilla chips, pita wedges or even crunchy veggie sticks like bell peppers and cucumbers
Want to give it a twist?
Swap sour cream with plain Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
Use chopped bell peppers instead of tomatoes if you want extra crunch.
If mozzarella isn’t your thing, feel free to swap in shredded cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese or even a spicy pepper jack for a little extra kick.
Make it spicy with jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce in the beans.
So there you have it, my go-to 4th of July taco dip that’s a fun, festive and easy appetizer. I make it every year and it never fails to bring the wow.
I love pairing this taco dip with my Classic Potato Salad Recipe. It's creamy, nostalgic and always a hit. And of course, no summer party is complete without Classic Grilled American Hot Dogs sizzling on the grill.
