Quick & Comforting Tuna Melt Sandwich

Some days call for a recipe that’s fast, satisfying, and deeply comforting and that’s exactly why this Tuna Melt Sandwich is a go-to classic you can always count on.

It’s a classic for a reason: creamy tuna salad, sharp cheddar cheese, and warm toasted bread come together in just minutes.

This sandwich pairs perfectly with classic potato chips, a simple green salad, tomato soup for a nostalgic combo, or pickles and coleslaw for extra crunch.

Whether you’re making a quick lunch between meetings, a simple dinner after a long day, or something cozy on a rainy afternoon, this tuna melt delivers big flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 can tuna, drained (5 oz)

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp celery, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp red onion, finely chopped

  • 3 small kosher dill pickles, finely chopped

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 4 slices bread

  • 2 slices cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, celery, red onion, and chopped pickles. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

2. Divide the tuna mixture evenly between 2 slices of bread.

3. Top each with a slice of cheddar cheese.

4. Place the remaining two slices of bread on top of the tuna and cheese slices.

5. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and broil on low until the cheese is melted and bubbly (about 2-3 minutes).

6. Remove from the oven and cut each sandwich in half.

7. Serve warm, optionally with chips or a simple side salad.
