Red, White, and Blue Chocolate Bark.
Every Fourth of July, right after we pull out the sparklers and before we light up the grill, I make a batch of this Red, White, and Blue Chocolate Bark.
It’s become a little tradition in our house—simple, sweet, and super festive. The kids love helping swirl the candy melts and I love that it’s ready in under 20 minutes (minus chill time, of course).
If you need a low-effort treat that looks like a firecracker went off in the best way, this one’s for you!
The best part? You can get creative with it. Sometimes I toss on a handful of crushed graham crackers or salty pretzel pieces to cut the sweetness (hello, sweet + salty perfection).
Other times I just keep it simple with candy melts and sprinkles so the kids can get involved.
Want to make it super giftable? Break it into pieces, pop them into little clear bags, tie them with a red or blue ribbon, and boom, DIY party favors in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients
2 cups white chocolate morsels
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
½ cup red candy melts
½ cup white candy melts
½ cup blue candy melts
1 tbsp red, white, and blue star sprinkles
¼ cup red, white, and blue M&Ms
Instructions
1. Line a 13x9-inch baking tray with parchment paper, making sure it covers the bottom and sides for easy removal later.
2. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate morsels in the microwave, heating in 30-second intervals and stirring after each until smooth.
3. Pour the melted chocolate onto the lined tray and spread it evenly.
4. Let this layer harden completely. Place the tray in the refrigerator to speed up the process if desired.
5. Next, melt the white chocolate morsels using the same method as before.
6. Pour the melted white chocolate over the hardened semi-sweet chocolate layer and spread it out evenly.
7. Allow this layer to set fully before continuing.
8. Melt the red, white, and blue candy melts separately.
9. Drizzle each color over the white chocolate layer using a spoon or piping bag.
10. While the candy melts are still soft, use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the colors together, creating a marbled effect.
11. Sprinkle the star-shaped sprinkles and M&Ms evenly over the top.
Lightly press the candies into the bark if needed to help them adhere.
12. Let the bark harden completely at room temperature or place it back in the fridge to speed things up.
13. Once fully set, lift the bark out of the tray using the parchment paper.
14. Break into pieces by hand.
15. Serve and enjoy!
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
Pair it with my 4th of July American Flag Cupcakes, they’re always a hit and look amazing on a dessert table. And don’t miss the 4th of July Firecracker Pretzel Sticks. They’re super fun for kids to help decorate and perfect for grabbing on the go between sparklers and S’mores bars.
