Ingredients
2 cups cherry tomatoes
1β1Β½ lbs cheese cubes (cheddar or your favourite cheese)
1 cup dip (ranch, hummus, garlic herb dip, or whipped feta)
Assorted crackers
1 bag of blue corn tortilla chips
10β12 slices of salami or other cured meat
1β1Β½ cups blueberries
8β10 slices of Swiss cheese, rolled or cut into star shapes
Fresh dill or parsley, for garnish (optional)
Optional decorative touches: mini flag picks, or red/white striped napkins.
Instructions
1. Lay out all your ingredients and cut the cheese into cubes.
2. Use a large wooden board or a platter and create a color-blocked layout: a blue cluster on one side, red accents on the other, and white/dairy elements in between to evoke the flag.
3. Arrange the blueberries in a cluster to create the "blue" section of the board.
4. Add the cherry tomatoes around the outer edge to create vibrant red accents.
5. Scatter the cheese cubes around the blueberries.
6. Place a small bowl of dip in the centre or slightly off-centre of a large serving board.
A bright red salsa or simple whipped feta dip to contrast with blues and whites; an Everything Bagel Whipped Cottage Cheese Dip or garlic-herb dip works well too.
7. Fold or roll the salami and tuck it between the fruit and cheese sections.
8. Roll the Swiss cheese slices and place them on the board, keeping the white elements grouped together.
9. Fill the remaining spaces with crackers and blue tortilla chips.
10. Garnish with fresh dill or parsley.
11. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
