Christmas Tree Cheese Ball Appetizer

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is getting together with friends and family. And when it comes to party appetizers, I love making something that feels special but doesn’t require hours in the kitchen. That’s exactly why this cute Christmas Tree Cheese Ball always has a spot on my table.

With bright green parsley “foliage,” a crunchy sliced-almond garland, and a cute bell pepper star on top, this dish looks like it came straight from a cozy Christmas market.

Place your holiday cheese ball on a charcuterie board surrounded by crackers, pretzels, or veggies. Its bright, colorful decorations make it a great addition to any holiday party table.

Whether you’re hosting a party, bringing a dish to a potluck, or simply want something festive for your family table, this appetizer will quickly become a yearly tradition.

Ingredients

  • 3 (8 oz.) packages cream cheese, softened (room temperature)

  • 1/3 cup sour cream

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 bunch fresh parsley

  • 1 yellow bell pepper

  • 1/2 cup Roma tomatoes or cherry tomatoes (halved or chopped)

  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

  • Star cookie cutter

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, fold together the cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, and onion powder until combined.

2. Shape the cheese ball mixture into a cone shape.

3. Wrap the cone tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.

4. Before serving, finely chop the parsley and press it onto the cone to coat the entire surface.

5. Use a star cookie cutter to cut a star from the yellow bell pepper. Chop the remaining pepper into small pieces for decoration.

6. Press sliced almonds into the cheese ball in a garland pattern around the tree.

7. Decorate the tree with the bell pepper star on top, tomato pieces, and the extra bell pepper pieces.

8. Serve with crackers.
