Ingredients
1 refrigerated can of croissant dough (makes 12 croissants)
24 cocktail sausages (pre-cooked)
1–2 eggs, beaten (for egg wash)
1 teaspoon poppy seeds, for sprinkling
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to the temperature listed on the croissant dough package - typically 350°F (175°C).
2. Unroll the croissant dough and separate it into 12 triangles along the perforated lines.
3. Cut each triangle in half to make 24 smaller triangles, one for each sausage.
4. Place one mini sausage at the wide end of a triangle and roll it toward the tip, wrapping it snugly in the dough.
5. Repeat until all the sausages are wrapped.
6. Using a pastry brush, lightly coat each wrapped sausage with beaten egg to help them brown beautifully in the oven.
7. Add a sprinkle of poppy seeds for texture, flavor, and that bakery-style finish.
8. Arrange the piggies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each.
9. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
10. Let them cool slightly, then serve with your favorite dips - ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, or even a spicy aioli for a gourmet twist!
Storing Leftovers: If you have leftovers (rarely happens!), store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore crispness.
