Easy Apple Ring Donuts.

Today, I’m sharing a great recipe that I love whipping up with my kid. We’ve been making these apply slice donuts for years, especially when I want to sneak a little fruit into party food without anyone complaining.

They look like mini donuts, but they’re made from juicy, crisp apple slices, how cute is that?! All you need is a sharp knife or an apple corer, a little peanut butter (or any nut/seed butter you like), and a handful of toppings. Think sprinkles, shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips, fresh berries, you name it!

No-Bake Apple Treats.

These are one of my go-to after school snacks, especially when everyone’s hangry and we need something fast that isn’t a bag of chips. Just pre-slice the apples, brush with a little lemon juice to prevent browning, and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

When it’s snack time, pull them out, spread the peanut butter, add toppings, and boom instant treat.

They're also one of the best party snacks for kids. I’ve done 'decorate-your-own apple donut' stations at birthday parties. Set out a few topping bowls and let the little ones go to town.

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady recommended)

  • 1⅓ cups peanut butter

Suggested Toppings:

  • Roasted coconut

  • Blueberries

  • Strawberries

  • Sprinkles

  • White chocolate

  • Dark chocolate

Instructions.

1. Wash the apples thoroughly.

2. Slice the apples horizontally into ½-inch thick rounds to make doughnut-size rings. Discard the top and bottom slices.

3. Core each slice of apple using a small cookie cutter, melon baller, or paring knife to create a donut shape.

4. Spread a layer of peanut butter on each apple slice.

5. Top with your favorite toppings. Drizzle with melted chocolate if desired.

6. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Tips:

  • You can pre-slice the apples in advance. Use lemon juice on the surface of the apples to prevent browning. Before decorating, pat them dry with a paper towel.

  • Any type of firm, crisp apple will work. I used Granny Smith apples.

These sweet apple donuts are the cutest, easiest healthy snack you’ll ever make. Plus, they make a special treat for birthday parties or even a sweet addition to a brunch board!
