Banana Split Dessert Trifle.

If you're looking for a show-stopping dessert that's as fun to make as it is to eat, you’ve just found it! This Banana Split Trifle is a fun twist on the classic banana split.

It's layered with bite-sized pieces of pound cake, banana pudding, fresh strawberries and all the toppings you’d expect from the iconic treat, including chocolate syrup, crushed pineapple, nuts, and of course, cherries on top!

I’ve been making these for years now, especially during summer, and let me tell you, they're always a big hit! They’re my go-to summer dessert because they’re fuss-free and perfect for warm weather.

No need to spend hours baking in a hot kitchen. All you need to do is layer, chill, and serve. It’s sweet, simple, and super satisfying.

Easy Banana Split Trifles.

You can serve these banana split trifles in individual glasses for a cute, party dessert that’s easy to grab and go. Or, if you’re feeding a crowd or want a show-stopping centerpiece, layer everything in a large trifle bowl and let guests serve themselves. Either way, it’s a total win and looks absolutely gorgeous on a dessert table.

Don’t have any pound cake on hand (or want something even lighter), you can swap in angel food cake instead. It’s fluffy, sweet and just as delicious! Not a fan of banana pudding? No problem! Vanilla pudding works beautifully, too.

I've used them for baby showers, Fourth of July BBQs, and even a DIY dessert bar for a tween birthday where guests could customize their own mini trifles. They're the perfect dessert for summer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound cake, cut into cubes

  • 1 (3-ounce) package banana pudding

  • 2 cups milk

  • 16 ounces frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided

  • 2 bananas, thinly sliced

  • 10 strawberries, thinly sliced

  • 1 (20-ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

  • 16 maraschino cherries

  • 8 (8-ounce) trifle bowls

Instructions:

1. Whisk together the banana pudding and milk until well combined. Allow to rest for about 5 minutes until thickened.

2. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping into the thickened pudding.

3. Place an even layer of sponge cake cubes in the bottom of each trifle cup for the first layer.

4. Spoon an even amount of the pudding mixture over the pound cake.

5. Carefully press the strawberry and banana slices around the inside edge of the glass. Scatter the remaining slices over the top of the pudding.

6. Spoon a layer of drained crushed pineapple on top of the fruit.

7. Spoon the remaining whipped topping over each trifle.

8. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top, then sprinkle with chopped nuts.

9. Place 2 maraschino cherries on top of each trifle to finish.

If you’re looking for more sweet summer ideas, try whipping up banana split cupcakes or strawberry shortcake cups. Both are just as fun, fruity, and easy to serve at parties!
