The Halloween season is one of my favorite holidays and there's no better way to celebrate than with a fun dessert that's both creepy and delicious!

This Halloween Graveyard Trifle is a spooky Halloween trifle layered with everything from chocolate brownies and chocolate pudding to crushed Oreos and gummy worms.

The best part? They’re incredibly easy to make and require no baking if you use pre-made brownies. Prepare them a day in advance and keep chilled until you're ready to serve.

These mini trifles are perfect for Halloween parties, school events or a spooky movie night at home. They can be easily customized by swapping out the brownie for layers of red velvet cake or vanilla pudding with candy bones.

Serve then in individual cups that are perfect for kids or a dessert table. Alternatively, layer all the ingredients in a large trifle bowl or glass dish to create a dramatic centerpiece.

Whether you're hosting a party or looking for an easy Halloween dessert to bring to a gathering, this graveyard dirt cake inspired trifles are sure to steal the show.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 2 cups cold milk

  • 1 (9x9-inch) pan of brownies, baked and cut into cubes

  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

  • 16 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed or fresh whipped cream

  • Orange food coloring

  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce

  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed

  • 8 Milano cookies (for gravestones)

  • Black gel icing (for writing on cookies)

  • Gummy worms (for decoration)

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened, about 5 minutes.

2. Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping until fully combined.

3. Divide the brownie cubes evenly among 8 small trifle dishes or clear cups.

4. Drizzle hot fudge sauce over the brownie layer.

5. Stir orange food coloring into the remaining whipped topping, then spread over the brownie and fudge layer.

6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the orange whipped topping.

7. Spoon the pudding mixture on top, then sprinkle with crushed Oreo crumbs to resemble "dirt."

8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight).

9. Before serving, use black gel icing to write "R.I.P." on each Milano cookie.

10. Press one cookie into the top of each trifle as a gravestone. Add a few gummy worms for extra creep factor.

Tips:

Short on time? Use store-bought brownies and instant pudding.

Get spooky with it: Add candy eyeballs, skeleton candy toppers, candy corn or Halloween sprinkles.

If you're planning a spooky celebration, other Halloween treats like candy corn mini cheesecakes and pumpkin Oreo balls are fun, festive, and totally irresistible!
